Flamingo Lake, Chester Zoo – Topographic and Hydrographic Survey
Powers were asked to carry out topographic and hydrographic surveys of the flamingo lake in Chester Zoo, Cheshire, to help with ongoing improvements with the flamingo habitat. The information provided from both surveys helped to carry out the work for the habitat and the Latin America Wetland Aviary.
Site Engineering at the Moxy Hotel, Chester
Powers was engaged on the Moxy Hotel development as site engineer at an early stage in the schedule and continued throughout the project. Powers set out the hotel at foundation level, then returned to set out and measure the columns and beams on each floor up to roof level.
Topographical Survey – Christleton Village Cycle, Walking and Traffic Plan
Powers was engaged by Planit-IE to provide a topographical survey of Christleton Village, to help formulate the design options available to the council. The survey included the carriageway and road widths, along with the various key levels and curb alignments, with the aim of providing information to enable a plan that enhances the heritage, conservation and atmosphere of the village to be developed
Measured Building Survey, Underground Utility Detection and Topographic Survey for King’s School, Chester
The King’s School is currently undergoing a programme of refurbishment, which includes a proposed new 6th Form Block and Science Block extension. Powers was appointed by the King’s School to carry out a topographical survey, underground utilities surveys and some measured internal building surveys to help inform some of the decisions that needed to be taken by the architect.
